This week has gone quickly because I haven’t really done much. Unfortunately, I came down with some kind of stomach virus Tuesday night and it has kept me in the house most of the week. I’m finally getting back to normal (I think) but maybe if you could keep my health in your prayers. I’m hoping that it was just a garden variety stomach virus and not the dreaded parasites and or worms that it is so possible to get while in Africa. If it is though I will know soon if it doesn’t go away. Oh the joys of being in Africa…
Sitting at home though has given me a lot of time to just spend with God. I have really felt Him reminding me over and over again of His steadfast character. This is something He is continually teaching me.
When I waiver; He is straight,
When I am worried; He knows His plan
When I feel like I’m alone; He’s still standing next to me
When I make mistake after mistake; He’s there to take me back
As for ministry, I am starting my internships this week. I have chosen the Rural Carepoint and the Hospital. I’m going to spend Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at the Hospital. I work in the baby room doing whatever I can convince the nurses to let me do and spending some quality time making crafts with the few handicap children that just wonder the hospital all day. The other days I will spend at the Rural Carepoint trying to find the needs of the community and see what it is we can do there. There used to be a carepoint but it had to close two years ago and no one has come back yet. We have to access the area and see what children are around still and if they need a carepoint to come back to help meet their needs. It’s a little bit of a mystery what we will be doing there just yet but we’ll figure it out.
Until next week friends!
